Review - Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny (2006)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and to celebrate 4/20, I thought it would be fun to discuss the 2006 rock musical comedy Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny , directed by Liam Lynch, and starring Jack Black and Kyle Gass as, well, themselves really. In addition to Jack and Kyle, the movie also features JR Reed, Paul F. Tompkins, Meat Loaf, Ronnie James Dio, Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Ned Bellamy, Fred Armisen, Amy Poehler, John C. Reilly, Tim Robbins, and Dave Grohl.         The movie opens with a prologue set in the town of Kickapoo, Missouri, where we meet a boy named JB who, unlike his hyper religious and conservative family, is a major fan of rock music. And, one night, while rocking out to his family during dinner, JB's father finally get fed up, takes off his belt, drags JB to his bedroom, and spanks him with the belt. JB's father then berates the boy for his passion for rock music, tears down several rock posters, demonic toys, and grounds the...

Breakdown - WWE WrestleMania 42 (2026)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and this weekend saw the WWE hold their annual WrestleMania event, which took place for the second year in a row at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Hosting this year's WrestleMania was the one and only John Cena, and there were a ton of matches and surprises across the weekend. So, let's get started with this recent iteration of the Showcase of the Immortals: WrestleMania.         So, on Day One, we kicked off with a six-man tag team match between Logan Paul, Austin Theory and iShowSpeed against the Usos and L.A. Knight. And, due to a bit of a goof-up by Speed, the Usos and L.A. Knight would pick up the win. Afterwards, we had an unsanctioned match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu, who would win the match. Next was a Fatal 4-Way tag team match for the Women's Tag Team Championship, which saw the team of Nia Jax and Lash Legend defend the titles against such teams as Bayley and Lyra Valkyria and Alexa Bliss and Cha...

Review - The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and we're taking a look at The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the sequel to 2023's The Super Mario Bros. Movie  from Universal, Illumination, and Nintendo. This movie stars the returning cast of Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, and Keegan-Michael Key, along with newcomers Benny Safdie, Brie Larson, Donald Glover, and Glen Powell.         So, this movie sees Mario and Luigi settling in to their new roles as heroes and protectors of the Mushroom Kingdom, which includes working alongside Princess Peach to defend the kingdom and keep watch over Bowser, still shrunken after the events of the first movie. But, when Bowser Jr. abducts Princess Rosalina and attacks the Mushroom Kingdom to free his father, it's up to Mario, Peach, Toad, and Luigi, along with new allies like Yoshi and Fox McCloud, to save the entire galaxy.         Now, when it comes to 2023's The Super Mario B...

Review - The Benchwarmers (2006)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, baseball season is back in full swing, no pun intended, so I thought it would be fun to take a look at a 2006 baseball comedy from Happy Madison Productions and director Dennis Dugan. This is my review of The Benchwarmers , starring Rob Schneider, David Spade, Jon Heder, Craig Kilborn, Molly Simms, Tim Meadows, Amaury Nolasco, Erin Bartlett, Nick Swardson, and Job Lovitz, with a special guest appearance by Major League Baseball icon Reggie Jackson.         The movie opens in a small Southern California town, where we see three nerdy kids playing baseball. It's here where we meet local landscaper Gus Matthews and paperboy Clark Reedy, who witness a local little league team pick on the three kids, with one boy from the little league team fart in the face of one of the nerdy kids, Nelson, who is pinned on the ground. Gus and Clark run the little league team off, and check on Nelson, who runs off in tears. Now a...
