Review - DC League of Super-Pets (2022)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, I just went to see the new movie DC League of Super-Pets.  Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, this animated film features the voice talents of Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, Jameela Jamil, Marc Maron, and Keanu Reeves.          So, the movie focuses on Krypto the Superdog, beloved canine companion of Superman. One day, when an evil guinea pig named Lulu, who was a test subject of Lex Luthor, is exposed to Orange Kryptonite, she goes on a rampage, mutating other guinea pigs and abducting the members of the Justice League. So, with the heroes out of commission, Krypto must team up with a band of misfit animals, including Ace the Bat-Hound, all of whom were also given superpowers by the Orange Kryptonite, to stop Lulu and save the day.             Okay, I honestly found this movie to be pretty cute. The story was very simple and easy to follow, which is good for a family film like this. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart

Breakdown - Marvel Studios' SDCC Announcements

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, San Diego Comic-Con is currently underway, and while I was unable to attend, I was following the announcements and trailers coming out of Hall H yesterday, which for DC was limited to trailers for both Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the Gods . However, Marvel Studios has quite a massive announcement, compounded by two trailers for upcoming releases. So, let's break down the trailers and the announcements for what's to come from Marvel in the forthcoming years.            First off, we now know that Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will conclude at the end of this year, with the final film of the set being Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.  And the trailer for this movie looks spectacular. I'm definitely excited for not only a return to Wakanda, but also the debut of Marvel's version of Atlantis and their leader Namor. Now, Marvel's Atlantis is set to be Mesoamerican in origin, and it's said that actor Tenoch Huerta

Review - Star Trek Into Darkness (2013)

Hey guys, Chuck here. It's been a while since I talked about the 2009 film Star Trek , so today I'm taking a look at its 2013 sequel: Star Trek Into Darkness.  This movie is, once again, directed by J.J. Abrams and once again stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, and Bruce Greenwood, and features newcomers Noel Clarke, Alice Eve, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Peter Weller.            So, we open with the Enterprise crew on a Class M planet called Nibiru, where Spock launches a cold fusion device into a volatile volcano, which would wipe out the entire populous of the planet it it erupts. However, Spock is in the volcano as well, and is planning to sacrifice himself to ensure his device goes off. Captain Kirk, however, seeks any way to get Spock out of the volcano, which Chekhov suggests a direct line of sight between the volcano and the Enterprise . Spock objects to this, as the natives of Nibiru would see the En

Review - Bumblebee (2018)

Hey guys, Chuck here. After five movies in the Transformers franchise that were directed by Michael Bay, Paramount and Hasbro sought ways to expand the franchise, and one that seemed to get the most traction was a prequel film centered around fan-favorite Autobot Bumblebee. However, the film we got was less of a prequel to the Bay films and seemed more like a reboot of the entire franchise. And it turns out that yes, this movie is a reboot. At least according to the higher-ups at Hasbro, it is.            Released in December of 2018, at the time where the world was taken in by the awesomeness of Aquaman, Bumblebee was directed by Travis Knight, and starred Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendenborg Jr, John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, and Pamela Adlon, and features the voices of Dylan O'Brien, Peter Cullen, David Sobolov, Angela Bassett, Justin Theroux, Steve Blum, Grey DeLisle, and Jon Bailey.             The movie opens with the last battle of the War on Cybertron, where

Review - Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and I just got home from seeing Thor: Love and Thunder , the latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This movie is directed, once again, by Taika Waititi, and stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson,  Natalie Portman, with special appearances by Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, and Russell Crowe.              So, in his newest adventure, Thor teams up with Valkyrie, Korg, and Jane Foster, who is now the Mighty Thor, to deal with the threat of Gorr the God Butcher, a madman wielding a very dangerous weapon called the Necrosword, before he uses it to kill every god in the universe.             So, Chris Hemsworth is brilliant once again as Thor, and his scenes with Natalie Portman as Jane/Mighty Thor are easily the best in the entire Thor franchise. Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie is terrific, once again, and I definitely enjoyed the return of Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif. Christian Bale was definitely eerie as G

Review - Transformers Sequels (2009 - 2017)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, the other day, we discussed the 2007 Michael Bay film Transformers . Well, the movie turned out to be such a big hit with audiences, that Paramount Pictures green lit a sequel, and eventually continued to do so until they had a total of five of these films out there, all directed by Michael Bay. And since I have no desire to talk about them individually, as I would rather talk about other movies out there, I decided to do a single post about the four sequels to Transformers , just to knock them all out at once.              So, let's start with the 2009 sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen . We open with a prologue that showcases that the Cybertronians visited Earth in ancient times, all the way back to the year 17,000 BC. We then to two years after the events of the first movie, where we see that humans have formed a military alliance with the Autobots, with a classified unit called NEST teaming up with Optimus, Ironhide, Ratchet, and

Review - Transformers (2007)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, fifteen years ago today, we got the theatrical release of the live-action movie Transformers , based on the Hasbro toy line of the same name. Now, my personal history with the franchise started in the '90s with the TV series Beast Wars  and its follow-up Beast Machines . Then, in the 2000's, I watched and enjoyed the series Transformers: Armada, Transformers: Energon, and my personal favorite Transformers: Cybertron . Then, when I went online and saw a video by Steven Spielberg announcing a live-action movie based on the Transformers, I got excited. But, then, I saw the official teaser, which confirmed that the film was being directed by Michael Bay instead of Steven Spielberg. But, even with a different choice of director than I initially believed, did I still enjoy the movie?             Well, believe it ir not, I didn't see the first Transformers in theaters when it came out in 2007. You see, I was fifteen at the time, and my
