Review - Supergirl (2026)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and we're taking a look at the new movie Supergirl , which is the second film in DC Studios' DC Universe franchise. This movie was directed by Craig Gillespie, and stars Milly Alcock, Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, David Corenswet, and Jason Momoa.        So, the movie follows Kara Zor-El, daughter of  Kryptonian scientist Zor-El and cousin of Superman, as she goes on an intergalactic adventure, running afoul of the evil Krem of the Yellow Hills, while also fighting alongside the cosmic mercenary Lobo, as she looks to find her true place in the universe.        While I will admit that the main plot was somewhat hit or miss, I still had a lot of fun watching Supergirl . Milly Alcock was fantastic as Kara/Supergirl, and it was great seeing more of David Corenswet as Superman. Jason Momoa was an absolute highlight as Lobo, and I look forward to seeing more of him in future DC m...

Review - Masters of the Universe (2026)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Masters of the Universe is a new fantasy sci-fi movie from director Travis Knight, and is based on the franchise He-Man and the Masters of the Universe . This movie stars Nicholas Galitzine, Camila Mendes, Idris Elba, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, Charlotte Riley, James Purefoy, and Jared Leto.         So, the story of Masters of the Universe  follows Prince Adam, the son of King Randor and former astronaut Queen Marlena, who must return from his exile on Earth to save his home world of Eternia from the clutches of the evil Skeletor and his vast forces, teaming with other warriors like Teela and Man-at-Arms.        One of the first things I took in with this movie is that it's an absolute visual feast. Which, given Travis Knight's previous work with Bumblebee , isn't a surprise. The immense detail that went into building the world of Eternia, and such locations as Castle Grayskull and Snak...

Review - Mars Attacks! (1996)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and this is my review of the 1996 alien invasion comedy Mars Attacks!.  Based on the trading card game of the same name by Topps, this movie stars the likes of Jack Nicholson, Glenn Close Annette Bening, Pierce Brosnan, Danny DeVito, Martin Short, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michael J. Fox, Jim Brown, Pam Grier, Rod Steiger, Paul Winfield, Natalie Portman, Lukas Haas, Jack Black, Christina Applegate, Sylvia Sydney, and Lisa Marie, and was directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay by Jonathan Gems.          So, the movie opens on a farm outside of Lockjaw, Kentucky, where a couple local farmers smell what they think is barbecue, but turns out to be a stampeding herd of cattle that had been lit on fire. Unfortunately, we don't have time to question this oddness, as we follow a flying saucer into space, wheeler it flies from Earth towards Mars, send a signal flare, and thousands of similar flying saucers rise from belo...
