Chuck's Movie Breakdown

          Hey guys, Chuck here, and I just got home from seeing F9 , so let's get into my thoughts on the latest entry of the Fast & Furious  series.            So, we start off the movie with a prologue depicting the tragic death of Jack Toretto, father of Dom and Mia, and that Dom was on his father's pit crew along with Dom's younger brother Jakob. Cut to a few years after the events of The Fate of the Furious,  and Dom is living a quiet life with his wife, Letty, and son, Brian. One day, Roman, Tej, and Ramsey arrive with a video message from Mr. Nobody, sending the crew on a mission to recover a dangerous device known as Aries, which Jakob and his group of mercenaries are also after.         So the race is on to recover Aries, and along the way, Dom's crew team up with Sean Boswell, along with Earl and Twinkie, from Tokyo Drift,  Jakob also works with cyberterrorist Cipher, who wants t...

Well, I just went to see Cruella,  Disney's latest live-action film inspired by their animation library, and here's my take on the film.         Set in 1970's London, the movie follows Estella, who lost her mother at the hands of a powerful and ruthless fashion designer named The Baroness. With the aid of her close friends Jasper and Horace, Estella eventually gets a job working for The Baroness as a designer. After a number of weeks working for and learning from The Baroness, Estella eventually decides to make a splash in fashion in her own right, creating a new persona to do so: that of unique new fashion designer Cruella.          While continuing to aid The Baroness as Estella, she also works to upstage The Baroness and make headlines as Cruella. There are a lot more twists and turns throughout the movie, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet.  ...

It's probably one of my favorite animated films produced outside of Disney, and it stems from one of my favorite cartoon shows for adults: South Park.  A series that, even after its 1997 debut on Comedy Central, stirs up a lot of talk, a lot of laughs, and a lot of controversy. It's been nearly twenty years since Disney released this one in theaters, and it almost seems like a forgotten gem from the studio. So, let's dive into Disney's 2003 film Holes , based on the 1998 children's novel by Louis Sachar.            The movie tells the story of Stanley Yelnats IV, whose family has had a string of bad luck throughout the generations, with Stanley's grandfather constantly blaming the family's bad luck on Stanley's Latvian great-great grandfather Elya Yelnats. Well, we're at the end of Marvel May , so let's discuss The Falcon and the Winter Soldier .            Released between March and April of 2021 on Disney+, this miniseries picks up with Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes after the events of Avengers: Endgame.  Sam has chosen not to accept the mantle of Captain America, as he knew the American government wouldn't accept him as the new Captain America due to his ethnicity. Meanwhile, Bucky Barnes is working to make amends for his past as an assassin for HYDRA, and is upset with Sam for giving up the mantle that Steve Rogers entrusted to him. Meanwhile, a mysterious terrorist group called the Flag Smashers, led by a woman named Karli Morgenthau, crops up and are working to return the world to the way it was during the five years that half the population was wiped from existence because of Thanos.         Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, we've reached the penultimate review of Marvel May , and it's a good one. Back when Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige announced Marvel's Phase Four slate, it included both movies and Disney+ original series. To wrap up Marvel May , we'll be looking at the first two of these series: WandaVision .          The series is set in the town of Westview, New Jersey, where Wanda Maximoff is living an ideal life with the Vision...in the style of a 1950's television sitcom. Not just the 1950's, but also the 1960's, 1970's, 1980's, 1990's, and 2000's eras of television sitcoms are referenced throughout the series. Wanda's neighbors include the ever nosy and bubbly Agnes, Mr. and Mrs. Hart, Geraldine, Norm, and several others. Wanda and Vision also have two sons: twins Billy and Tommy, and Wanda's brother Pietro stops by, and takes the boys trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Looking at it, this all seems nice.....

        Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, we're at the end of Marvel's Phase Three, which means that we've reviewed every Marvel Studios film so far here on Chuck's  Movie Breakdown . Now, after today, we do have some more reviews for Marvel May , but future Marvel May  events will most likely be centered on Marvel films outside of Marvel Studios.
