Breakdown - WWE Elimination Chamber (2026)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and we're back with the latest WWE Premium Event: the Elimination Chamber. We had two matches in the titular structure, as well as two title matches. So, let's get into the last major WWE Premium Event until WrestleMania: the Elimination Chamber

So, for the two title matches, we have CM Punk defending the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Finn Bálor, in which CM Punk retained his title, meaning he will STILL defend his title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. And, the other title match saw Becky Lynch WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship against AJ Lee, which saw AJ Lee emerge victorious as the new Champion. Now, on to the Elimination Chamber matches.

For a quick reminder of how the Elimination Chamber works, the massive structure is set around the ring. Six superstars enter the structure, with four of them entering a set of plexiglass pods located in each of the four corners of the structure, and two starting in the ring. And, the last one standing at the end of the match goes on to WrestleMania

So, who were in the two Elimination Chamber matches? Well, for the Women's Elimination Chamber match, the winner of which will face Jade Cargill for the WWE Women's Championship at WrestleMania, the superstars in the Chamber were Alexa Bliss, Tiffany Stratton, Raquel Rodriguez, Rhea Ripley, Asuka, and Kiana James, and Rhea Ripley was the victor, securing her spot at WrestleMania. As for the Men's Elimination Chamber match, the winner of which will face Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania, we had Randy Orton, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, Ja'Von Evans, Trick Williams, and Logan Paul, and Randy Orton was the victor, securing his spot at WrestleMania.

One fascinating story that's been happening across both WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown is a mysterious wooden crate, which was marked to not be opened until the day of Elimination Chamber. And, the mystery of the contents of the wooden crate was revealed, and it was the official WWE debut of former Ring of Honor and All-Elite Wrestling wrestler Danhausen. Now,.I will admit that I am unfamiliar with Danhausen as I have never watched Ring of Honor, and my experience with AEW is limited, but I look forward to seeing what he brings to the table in WWE. Also, another story we saw on Raw was a masked assailant attacking members of the Judgement Day. And, while a masked assailant was unmasked the night before Elimination Chamber on SmackDown, he was a false lead. The TRUE masked assailant was revealed to be Sett Rollins, who it seems has recovered from a shoulder injury that put him on the shelf for quite some time. Definitely glad to see Seth back, and I am curious to see where his story will take him.

So, overall, I enjoyed this year's Elimination Chamber event. The Elimination Chamber matches were thoroughly engaging, and I was happy to see AJ Lee win her first WWE title in about a decade. On top of that, seeing the debut of Danhausen and the return of Seth Rollins was terrific. I will say that, while still far from the best years of WWE, this year's Elimination Chamber event was thoroughly terrific and entertaining.

Alright guys, this is Chuck signing off, and I'll see you in the next review, which will be the Disney Channel movie Alley Cats Strike. And, we'll be back to WWE with WrestleMania in April.
