My Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026

      Happy New Year, guys. Chuck here, and while I won't deny that the first half of the decade has been rough, with a global health pandemic in 2020, a major labor strike between two massive Hollywood unions in 2023, and an ever-shifting sociopolitical climate affecting the connection between movie studios and the audience, I have genuinely high hopes for 2026. And, while 2025 was pretty rough on the whole, 2026 seems to have plenty of promise in terms of major box office releases. So, as has become tradition around here, it's time to count down my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026. 

      But first, some honorable mentions: Mortal Kombat II, the deadly tournament arrives in this highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 Mortal Kombat reboot, Clayface, DC Studios brings to life the terrifying story of Matt Hagen, an actor in Gotham who becomes a being made of clay, Moana, Disney's latest live-action remake will follow Moana's journey to join forces with Maui and restore the Heart of Te Fiti, Toy Story 5, Woody, Buzz, and the gang are back in this latest adventure in the storied Pixar franchise.

       And, now, with those out of the way here's my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026. 

       # 10 - Street Fighter: The most iconic fighters in video game history are getting another chance at the silver screen in this new adaptation of the iconic fighting game franchise. 

       # 9 - Masters of the Universe: Prince Adam/He-Man must take up the sword to protect the world of Eternia in this epic new film from Bumblebee director Travis Knight. 

       # 8 - Spider-Man: Brand New Day: Peter Parker returns to protect the streets of New York, allying with the Hulk and the Punisher, as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. 

       # 7 - The Odyssey: Academy Award winning director Christopher Nolan recounts the legend of Odysseus in this cinematic epic starring Matt Damon and Tom Holland. 

       # 6 - Avengers: Doomsday: The Russo Brothers return to Marvel where a new generation of Avengers, along with the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and the New Avengers (Thunderbolts) must work together to thwart Doctor Doom and his threat against the multiverse.  

       # 5 - The Mandalorian & Grogu: How long has it been since we had a Star Wars movie in theaters? Too long. And now, director Jon Favreau seems to be bringing the galaxy far, far away back to the silver screen in this big screen adventure featuring Din Djarin and Grogu from The Mandalorian. 

       # 4 - Supergirl: The cosmic adventures of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl, cousin of Superman, come to life in this new film from DC Studios and director Craig Gillespie. 

       # 3 - The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping: Return to Panem in this new story that tells of Haymitch Abernathy's time as a District 12 Tribute in the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, where he's faced with forty-seven other Tributes.

       # 2 - The Super Mario Galaxy Movie: Mario, Luigi, and Peach traverse the cosmos in this new animated adventure, where they will team up with Princess Rosalina to save the galaxy from the threat of Bowser Jr. 

       # 1 - Dune: Part Three: Denis Villeneuve returns to the sands of Arrakis in this third film in the Dune franchise, which will see Paul Atreides face a dangerous new threat. 

       And, there you have it. These are my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026. And, while I hope a number of these movies turn out well, I also hope to see a few surprises in the form of movies that I may end up seeing at special screenings of something.

Review - Snow White (2025)

       Well, here we are. Snow White , the latest film from Disney to reimagine one of their animated classics, was directed by Marc Webb, written by Erin Cressida Wilson, and stars Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, and Ansu Kabia, with motion capture performances by Martin Klebba, Jeremy Swift, George Salazar, and Titus Burgess just to name a few.        So, the movie tells the story of Snow White, a princess who goes on the run when, after consulting with the Spirit of the Magic Mirror, the Evil Queen grows jealous of her innermost radiance and wants her dead. Snow White meets and befriends several woodland critters, as well as the Seven Dwarfs (Doc, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, Dopey, and Grumpy), and a young man named Jonathan, who leads a group of bandits, and she works with them to save her kingdom from the rule of the Evil Queen.        Okay, so the myriad of controversies surrounding this movie are well docume...

Review - The Karate Kid (1984/2010)

       Hey guys, Chuck here. And, with the new movie Karate Kid: Legends hitting theaters this summer, I thought I would finally take a look into a couple of earlier films in the Karate Kid franchise. Unfortunately, I have only ever seen two movies in the series: the 1984 original starring Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita, and the 2010 entry starring Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. And, surprisingly enough, those are the only two that are required viewing before going into the new Karate Kid: Legends movie.          So, the 1984 film The Karate Kid tells the story of Daniel LaRusso, a teenager living in the Reseda neighborhood of Los Angeles, who befriends a girl named Ali, but has also unfortunately become a target of Johnny Lawrence and his fellow students at an aggressive karate dojo known as Cobra Kai.
