Breakdown - WWE Royal Rumble (2026)
Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, it's been a bit since I talked about anything WWE related. And, well, I just got done with watching the latest WWE Royal Rumble event, which was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We had a few entertaining matches, including both the Men's and Women's Royal Rumble matches. So, who won, and who punched their ticket to this year's WrestleMania in Las Vegas? Let's find out.
So, before we get to the two Royal Rumble matches, here's some of the other matches. First, we had A.J. Styles vs. Gunther, in which if A.J. lost, his storied wrestling career, which includes stints in wrestling promotions like TNA, Ring of Honor, and WWE, would be over. And, unfortunately, Gunther was the big winner, meaning that A.J. Styles' career is over. Second, we had the Undisputed WWE Championship match between Drew McIntyre and Sami Zayn, which saw McIntyre retain the title.
And now, we have the two Royal Rumble matches. First was the Women's Royal Rumble, which saw Liv Morgan emerge as the victor. And, while there were some phenomenal performances by the likes of Roxanne Perez, Charlotte Flair, Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, Nikki Bella, and the returning Brie Bella, my personal favorite one was from Sol Ruca. And, finally, there was the Men's Royal Rumble match, which saw Roman Reigns emerge victorious by last eliminating Gunther. And, while I am glad that Roman won, I gotta say that I was impressed by the likes of Oba Femi, newcomer Royce Keys (in his WWE debut), and AAA wrestlers like La Parka and Mr. Iguana. And, we now have TWO versions of El Grande Americano, as the Rumble saw a competitor dubbed "The Original El Grande Americano" appeared, and both of them went toe-to-toe. And, I have a feeling one of the two versions of El Grande Americano is gonna have to unmask.
So, to recap: Drew McIntyre is still Champion, A.J. Styles' career is over, and both Liv Morgan and Roman Reigns will be facing the Champions of their choosing at WrestleMania in Las Vegas. All in all, a really entertaining Royal Rumble this year.
Alright guys, this is Chuck signing off, and I'll see you guys in the next review.
