My Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2025
Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, another year has come to an end. And, when it comes to the movies of the year, there have been a number of surprises, a few disappointments, and some movies that were kind of a mixed bag for me. But, there were ten movies that managed to truly stand out. So, without further ado, there are my Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2025.
Now, I do have a few honorable mentions of movies that, while decent enough and being movies that I still enjoyed, simply weren't worthy of a spot in the Top 10, and they are as follows: Jurassic World: Rebirth, A Minecraft Movie, Thunderbolts*, and Tron: Ares. Again, I enjoyed these movies, but they all lacked a little something that would have made them Top 10 material. And speaking of which...
#10 - The Fantastic Four: First Steps: Marvel Studios' take on Marvel's First Family was a lot of fun with brilliant performances and special effects.
#9 - Relay: An honest surprise, this action thriller with Riz Ahmed kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
#8 - Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning: the final mission for Ethan Hunt and his IMF team was an absolute thrill from start to finish in this eighth film in the iconic action franchise.
#7- Karate Kid: Legends: this cinematic return to the Karate Kid franchise combines great martial arts with stellar performances, especially from the duo of Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio.
#6 - Song Sung Blue: This surprise musical about Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning and Thunder was a genuine delight with brilliant lead performances by Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson.
#5 - Ballerina: this John Wick spinoff was filled with terrific action, and is led by a brilliant performance by Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro.
#4 - Demon Slayer the Movie: Infinity Castle: the first of a three movie conclusion to the Demon Slayer anime was easily the best animated film I saw this year.
#3 - Superman: James Gunn reinvigorates the DC Universe with a thoroughly entertaining reimagining of the Last Son of Krypton.
#2 - Avatar: Fire and Ash: James Cameron's third Avatar film expands the world of Pandora with brilliant visual effects and stellar performances.
#1 - Sinners: Ryan Coogler's period piece delivered a surprisingly entertaining film with a unique take on vampires and some spectacular blues music.
And, there you have it. My Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2025. Definitely a few surprises, and definitely surprised where some of the movies I was eagerly looking forward to wound up by the end of the year.
Anyway, this is Chuck signing off, and I'll be back New Year's Day for my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2026.
