My Thoughts on the 2025 Kids' Choice Awards

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, it's finally time to dive in to Nickelodeon's annual event: the Kids' Choice Awards, which were hosted this year by international music star Tyla. There were tons of celebrities, slime, and orange blimps being handed out, so let's see who the big winners were this year.

So, in the Movies category, the winners were as follows: Wicked (Favorite Movie), Jack Black (Favorite Movie Actor for A Minecraft Movie), Ariana Grande (Favorite Movie Actress for Wicked), Inside Out 2 (Favorite Animated Movie), Dwayne Johnson and Auli'i Cravahlo (Favorite Male and Female Voice from an Animated Movie for Moana 2), Jim Carrey (Favorite Villain for Sonic the Hedgehog 3) and Emma Myers (Favorite Butt-Kicker for A Minecraft Movie).

In the Television category, the winners were as follows: The Thundermans: Undercover (Favorite Kids' TV Show), Jack Griffo and Kira Kosarin (Favorite Male and Female TV Star: Kids for The Thundermans: Undercover), XO, Kitty (Favorite Family TV Show), Xolo Maridueña and Peyton List (Favorite Male and Female TV Star: Family for Cobra Kai), America's Got Talent (Favorite Reality Show), and SpongeBob SquarePants (Favorite Cartoon).

In the Music category, the winners were as follows: Stray Kids (Favorite Music Group), Bruno Mars (Favorite Male Artist), SZA (Favorite Female Artist), "Taste" by Sabrina Carpenter (Favorite Song), Benson Boone (Favorite Male Breakout Artist), Sabrina Carpenter (Favorite Female Breakout Artist), Short n' Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter (Favorite Album), "Defying Gravity" by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande from Wicked (Fab Song from a Movie), "Luther" by Kendrick Lamar and SZA (Favorite Music Collaboration), "Blue Flame" by Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco (Favorite Viral Song), Tyla (Favorite Global Music Star), and LOL Podcast (Favorite Podcast).

As for other winners, they were as follows: LeBron James and Simone Biles (Favorite Male and Female Sports Star), MrBeast and Salish Matter (Favorite Male and Female Creator), Ms. Rachel (Favorite Kids' Creator), iShowSpeed (Favorite Gamer), and Roblox (Favorite Video Game).

Jack Black was also honored tonight with a commemorative award: King of Comedy. And, while the idea of who should carry that label is highly subjective, I will say that Jack Black has entertained several age demographics across multiple generations for years. Not to mention he's won multiple Kids' Choice Awards, and has been a three-time KCA's host. So, for Nickelodeon to honor him at the Kids' Choice Awards is very cool, indeed. Rihanna also got recognized this evening with the Icon Award. And, given her contributions both as a music artist and an actress, she has definitely earned the title of "Icon."

And, of course, there were some fantastic appearances by celebrity guests, such as frequent KCA's guest Tony Hawk, and the likes of Jack Griffin, Kira Kosarin, Kel Mitchell, Ice Spice, Auli'i Cravalho, Alex Warren, Benny Blanco, and several others. And, there were fantastic musical performances by MGK and Katseye.

But, what makes the KCA's so fun is, of course, the celebrity sliming. And, yes, quite a number of celebrities got soaked in that green Nickelodeon slime. Alex Warren, Kira Kosarin and Jack Griffo, MGK, Jack Black, Kel Mitchell, the members of Katseye, and Tyla all found themselves covered in slime. Not to mention, several folks in the audience got covered in slime, as well.

Overall, this year's Kids' Choice Awards was an improvement from last year, and I will give Tyla major props for stepping in to host this year, as she did a fantastic job.

Alright guys, this is Chuck signing off, and I'll see you in the next review.
