Top 10 Favorite Movies of the 2010's

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well along with it being the end of the year, we also mark the end of the decade. Next year will be the stars of the 2020's. So, let's say goodbye to the 2010's with my list of my Top 10 Favorite Movies of the 2010's. Just like with my previous list of my Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2019, I did not see every movie that came out this decade. So, my list will probably not feature a lot of movies that are really popular, or are award-winning drama films. This is a list of films that I saw throughout the 2010's that I personally liked. With that in mind, lets' get started.

Before we get to the movies that made it onto the list, here are some honorable mentions. These are movies that, while I liked them a lot, they didn't quite make the cut. Such films include: Your Name - a genius feat of anime storytelling, with a unique way of developing a romance between two teens; Avengers: Infinity War & Endgame - a pair of movies that united the entire Marvel Universe in the biggest way possible; Scott Pilgrim vs. the World - a humorous comic book film with great music, great characters, and great action scenes; Furious 7 - a great send-off to the late Paul Walker, who was a constant in the Fast & Furious franchise; Jurassic World - an exciting romp that brought the dinosaurs of Jurassic Park back in a big way; Skyfall - a terrific film that marked 50 years of the James Bond series. Okay, now that those are out of the way, here are my ten favorite movies of the 2010's.

     # 10 - Tron: Legacy: Nearly thirty years after the release of the original Tron, Disney released this technological marvel of a sequel. With updated visual effects, and improved costuming and set design, the world of the Grid was re-imagined in the most amazing way possible.

     # 9 - The Hateful Eight: Quentin Tarantino's western epic about eight strangers stuck in one location during a terrible blizzard, this movie was a lot of fun to watch. Featuring the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth, and Channing Tatum, this is one western that I enjoy as often as I can.

     # 8 - Avengers: Age of Ultron: The second Avengers movie, this film was great as it widened the Marvel Universe and introduced a number of memorable characters, including the film's titular villain: the robotic menace Ultron.

     # 7 - Frozen: Disney Animation's biggest success story, this film's songs are still being sung by fans to this very day. Iconic, memorable, and mesmerizing, Frozen is a true achievement in the world of animation.

     # 6 - Black Panther: The first Marvel superhero film to be nominated for Best Picture Oscar, Ryan Coogler's film about the King of Wakanda was as entertaining as it was engaging. With the likes of Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Forest Whitaker in the cast, this film was a great time at the theater.

     # 5 - Star Wars: The Force Awakens: J.J. Abrams took us back to the universe of Star Wars in the most stunning way possible. With familiar favorites from the original trilogy, plus new heroes to root for, The Force Awakens was a welcome return to a galaxy far, far away.

     # 4 - Wonder Woman: The first female-led superhero film to be successful with critics and audiences, Patty Jenkins' 2017 blockbuster paved the way for films such as 2019's Captain Marvel, and even films for next year like Birds of Prey, Black Widow, and Wonder Woman 1984, the sequel to Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot became a household name due to her amazing performance in this movie.

     # 3 - Inception: Christopher Nolan's epic film about a team who enters the world of dreams is still amazing to watch today as it was in 2010. Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, and the rest of the cast really shined in this movie, and it was an amazing visual storytelling marvel.

     # 2 - Captain America: The Winter Soldier: Anthony and Joe Russo delivered a terrific political thriller with the second Captain America movie. Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, and Robert Redford were all great in this movie, that truly changed the landscape of the MCU for years to come.

     # 1 - Mad Max: Fury Road: George Miller returned to the desert wasteland of Mad Max with this amazing sequel many years in the making. Tom Hardy takes on the role of Max, and is a lot of fun to watch. Add in great stunts, great practical effects, and really badass looking cars, and you've got what is absolutely my favorite film of the decade.

There you have it. Those are my Top 10 Favorite Movies of the 2010's. This has been a great decade, and I hope that the 2020's will be just as full of entertaining movies as the 2010's were. Speaking of the 2020's, my next countdown will be my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2020. Until then, this is Chuck signing off. See you guys next time.
