Breakdown - WWE SummerSlam (2026)

       Hey guys, Chuck here, and the WWE just held the Biggest Party of the Summer this past weekend. That's right, WWE SummerSlam took place over the weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I caught all the action on streaming. So, let's break down the two-day event that was SummerSlam. 

        So, Day One kicked off with the Women's World Championship match between Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky, in which Liv Morgan retained her title. Next, we had a six-man tag match between Jimmy and Jey Uso and Jacob Fatu against LA Knight, Solo Sikoa, and Royce Keys, which saw the trio of Keys, Knight, and Sikoa emerge victorious. Next, we had a one-on-one match between Gunther and Nick Aldis, which saw Gunther win by submission. Next, we saw a six-woman tag team match between the Bella Twins and Paige against Fatal Influence, which saw Fatal Influence gain the victory. Next, we saw a one-on-one match for the Undisputed WWE Championship between CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, which saw Punk retain the title. Wrapping up Day One was the Hell in a Cell match between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, which saw Oba Femi emerge victorious. 

       Okay, so for Day One, easily the best matches were the Hell in a Cell match with Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, as well as the title match between Liv Morgan and Iyo Sky. While the remaining matches were decent, the six-woman tag team match between the Bella Twins and Paige against Fatal Influence just, well, sucked, especially with the Bellas turning on Paige after the match. But, one positive was the return of Randy Orton, who knocked Cody Rhodes around during Cody's match against CM Punk. 

        So, Day Two kicked off with a Number One Contender's match for an Undisputed Title match, which was initially one-on-one between Finn Balor and Sami Zayn, but was made a Fatal 4- Way match with the inclusion of Gunther and the returning Kevin Owens, and it would be Kevin Owens who would emerge as the new Number One Contender for CM Punk's title. Next, we saw a United States title match between Trick Williams and Baron Corbin, which saw Baron Corbin emerge as the new Champ. Next, we saw a five-woman ladder match between Tiffany Stratton, Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Lash Legend, and Chelsea Green to crown the interim WWE Women's Champion, with Chelsea Green emerging victorious. Next, we saw the "Human Monie$ on a Pole" match between Danhausen and Dominik Mysterio, which saw Danhausen win the money and then toss it to the crowd. Next, we saw an Intercontinental Championship match between Chad Gable and Penta, which saw Chad Gable win the title via submission. Wrapping up Day Two was the final match of SummerSlam: Roman Reigns against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, with Roman Reigns retaining the title after what turned out to be a damn well done match. 

        Honestly, Day Two of SummerSlam had much more enjoy matches than Day One, and saw three new champions crowned in the forms of Chelsea Green, Chad Gable, and Baron Corbin. The Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins match was absolutely fantastic, and the match between Danhausen and Dominik Mysterio was funny as all hell. The return of Kevin Owens was also fantastic, and I look forward to his title match against CM Punk when that time comes. 

         Overall, I had fun with SummerSlam this year, and I am glad I watched both days of it. Were all the matches winners? No. But, the ones that were definitely stand out for me as testaments as to why I love professional wrestling and WWE.

Review - Song Sung Blue (2025)

       Hey guys, Chuck here. Song Sung Blue ,.which is based on a true story, is a new musical film released by Focus Features. Written and directed by Craig Brewer, this movie stars Hugh Jackman, Kate Hudson, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Michael Imperioli, Mustafa Shakir, and Jim Belushi.         The movie tells the story of Wisconsin musician Mike Sardina, who forms a close bond with fellow musician Claire Stingl, and how the two go on to become the front duo of a Neil Diamond tribute band known as Lightning and Thunder.
