My Thoughts on WWE Clash in Paris (2025)
Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, yesterday saw the WWE holding the premium event Clash in Paris. Unfortunately, due to other obligations, I missed watching it live. But, I was able to catch the replay after the fact, and here are my thoughts on the event.
So, kicking things off was a match between Bronson Reed and Roman Reigns, which saw Roman Reigns win the match. And, the best part was when Roman took what is referred to as the "shoe-la fala" and cut it apart. But, the fun was ruined when both Reed and Bron Breakker attacked Roman, forcing Raw general manager Adam Pearce to ban both men from the building, under penalty of indefinite suspension without pay.
The next match was a WWE Tag Team Championship match between the Wyatt Sicks and the Street Profits, and the Wyatt Sicks emerged victorious and retained the championship belts. And, I will say I enjoyed the Street Profits' Borderlands inspired gear, including the masks from the Borderlands game series. After that, there was a WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship match between Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella, and Becky Lynch emerged victorious and retained her championship.
Next up was a match between Sheamus and Rusev, with the two facing off in a "Good Ol' Fashioned Donnybrook Match," which is basically a No Disqualifications hardcore match that involves wood barrels of Irish Brandy as well as shillelaghs. The winner of the match was, ultimately, Rusev. The penultimate match was a one-on-one match between John Cena and Logan Paul. And, Cena, who got a massive ovation from the crowd in Paris, was ultimately the victor.
And, now, we come to the main event: a Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship between Seth Rollins, CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso. The match itself was pretty even in terms of skill, and I personally enjoyed both LA Knight and Jey Uso in the match. But, in the end, it was thanks to interference from Becky Lynch that Seth Rollins, who was about to be bested by Punk, won the match and retained the title. Now, remember how the duo of Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker were banned from the building after they tore Roman Reigns apart? Well, the workaround to that was having Becky Lynch show up to assist her real-life husband Seth Rollins in winning the match. Does this mean that Becky is officially joining Seth's faction The Vision? Possibly. But, who knows.
Overall, aside from a couple of fun matches like the Good Ol' Fashioned Donnybrook Match, the Tag Team Championship match, and the Cena vs. Paul match, Clash in Paris was an overall decent premium event for WWE. While it might have been something to watch as it aired, I'm glad I was able to catch it after the fact. While I still think my favorite WWE premium event of the year was either Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, or WrestleMania, this was still a fun time.
Alright guys, this is Chuck signing off, and I'll see you in the next review.
