Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2024

        Hey guys, Chuck here, and with a new year comes, of course, new movies. So, let's run down my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2024. 

         Now, a few honorable mentions before I get to the top ten: Twisters; this sequel to the 1996 film Twister follows a new generation of Storm Chasers going after tornadoes; Red One, a new holiday flick with The Rock, Chris Evans, and J.K. Simmons as Santa. Okay, with those Honorable Mentions out of the way, here are the top ten. 

         #10 - The Sony/Marvel Movies: while not quite sold on all of these movies, Sony has a total of three Marvel Comics movies due to release this year. The three movies are as follows: Madame Web, set to release in February, Kraven the Hunter, set to release in August, and a third Venom, set to release in November. 

        #9 - Borderlands: Eli Roth, fresh off the surprise success of Thanksgiving, takes on the task of directing Borderlands, based on the video game. 

        #8 - Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes/Alien: Romulus: okay, I wasn't able to pick between these two, as both sound exciting. 20th Century Studios is returning to the worlds of Planet of the Apes and Alien, with new movies in each respective franchise from directors Wes Ball (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes) and Fede Alvarez (Alien: Romulus). 

        #7 - Beetlejuice Beetlejuice: Tim Burton and Michael Keaton are back, with this exciting new movie starring the ghost with the most: Beetlejuice.

        #6 - Deadpool & Wolverine: Marvel Studios only theatrical release this year, Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson is back, and he looks to be taking on the crumbling remains of the Fox-Marvel Universe, alongside the returning Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. 

        #5 - Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire: Warner Bros. and Legendary return to the Monster verse with this sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong. 

        #4 - Sonic the Hedgehog 3: Sonic is back once more, along with his new friends Tails and Knuckles, to go head to head with the mysterious Shadow the Hedgehog. 

        #3 - Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire: the sequel to the 2021 surprise hit Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Gil Kenan takes over directing the next Ghostbusters movie, which sees the Spengler family in New York working with the original Ghostbusters to confront a frigid paranormal threat. 

        #2 - Joker: Folie a Deux: director Todd Phillips returns to Gotham as Arthur Fleck/Joker (played by Joaquin Phoenix) finds himself on a musical journey of madness alongside of Harley Quinn (played by Lady Gaga).

        #1 - Dune: Part Two: even though it was pushed back from its November 2023 release, this is still a movie I really can't wait to see. 

       Well, there you have it, my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2024. Which of these will be the best? Will any of them make the cut? We'll just have to see by year's end. Anyway, we've got a lot to do this year at Chuck's Movie Breakdown, including next month's line-up with Robert Rodriguez Month, and of course the returns of HallowScream, and 12 Reviews of Christmas. But, be sure to join me next time for my review of the 2012 film Snow White and the Huntsman.

        Hey guys, Chuck here. Last night, I watched the new movie The Thundermans Return on Nickelodeon, and I have a few thoughts on it. For those who don't know what The Thundermans was, it was a Nickelodeon sitcom that ran from 2013 through 2018, and focused on a family of superheroes known as, well, the Thundermans. Review - Ocean's Eleven (2001)

       Hey guys, Chuck here. Back in the 1960's, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and the rest of the Rat Pack teamed up and made a movie called Ocean's 11 , which told the story of a military veteran named Danny Ocean, who teams up with his fellow squad members to rob a number of casinos in Las Vegas. It was definitely a product of the time, and is actually a really fun movie. Seeing Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and the Rat Pack on screen together is just genuinely fun.        In 2001, producer Jerry Weintraub and director Steven Soderbergh would bring together a fantastic cast to tell a more modern version of the Rat Pack classic, and that's the movie we're talking about today. Review - Night at the Museum (2006-2014)

          Hey guys, Chuck here, and after reviewing Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, I needed something of a pallette cleanser. And, thus, I'm taking a look at the Night at the Museum trilogy, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ben Stiller, Rami Malek, Mizuo Peck, Ricky Gervais, Patrick Gallagher, Owen Wilson, Steve Coogan, and Robin Williams, with additional cast members throughout the series including the likes of Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Carla Gugino, Bill Cobbs, Charlie Murphy, Jake Cherry, Amy Adams, Bill Hader, Hank Azaria, Jon Bernthal, Christopher Guest, the Jonas Brothers, Dan Stevens, Skyler Gisondo, Rebel Wilson, and Ben Kingsley.          So, the first Night at the Museum was released in 2006, and focuses on struggling entrepreneur Larry Daley, who ends up getting a job as the new overnight security guard at the Museum of Natural History, taking over for the older guards Cecil, Reginald, and Gus.
