Review - Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma (2015-2020)

Hey guys, Chuck here. And, it's finally come. Time to talk about one of my favorite anime series of recent memory. Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma , or Food Wars  for short, is an anime series from Yoshitomo Yonetani, and is based on the manga by Yūto Tsukuda. Running for a total of five seasons, the Food Wars anime was produced by J.C. Staff, with English dubbing by Sentai Filmworks.          The series centers on Soma Yukihira, a teenage boy who has spent most of his life working at his family's Japanese eatery, alongside his renowned father Joichiro. After managing to end a threat against the restaurant, Joichiro reveals to Soma that he'll be attending an elite culinary school, Totsuki Academy, while Joichiro himself goes overseas for an unknown amount of time.           At first, Soma is unable to pass a simple test overseen by Erina Nakiri, a young woman who wields a extremely sharp culinary palat...

Review - Death Race 3: Inferno (2013)

Hey guys, Chuck here. As we inch closer and closer to the release of season two of Twisted Metal , I think that it's a good time to jump back into the world of vehicular combat. Today, we're taking a look at 2013's Death Race 3: Inferno , directed by Roel Reiné once again, and seeing the returns of Luke Goss, Tanit Phoenix, Danny Trejo, Ving Rhames, Frederick Koehler, and Robin Shou, with the main newcomer here being Dougray Scott. Released direct-to-video by Universal, this movie is another prequel to 2008's Death Race, and serves as a continuation of 2010's Death Race 2.        So, the movie starts off with R.H. Weyland talking about the success of Death Race, and the popularity of the masked driver Frankenstein. However, reports hint that another businessman, Niles York, looking to acquire two major assets from Weyland: Terminal Island and Death Race. And, it's during the contract signing that Weyland puts together York's plan: franchis...

Review - Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, this is my review of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning . And, big emphasis on "final," as this is, quite literally, the final film in the Mission: Impossible franchise. This film was directed by Christopher McQuarrie, and stars Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Henry Czerny, Esai Morales, Shea Whigham, Pom Klementieff, Rolf Saxon, and Angela Bassett.         Picking up sometime after the events of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning , this movie sees Ethan Hunt and the IMF go on one final mission: to finish what they started and shut down the rogue artificial intelligence program known as The Entity, before it can take complete control and wipe out the world.        Okay, so, what did I like about this movie? Well, the performances were absolutely fantastic, with both Tom Cruise as Ethan and Hayley Atwell as Grace being arguably the best parts of the cast. Simo...

Review - Cobra Kai (2018-2025)

Alright guys, here it is. This is my review of Cobra Kai , the streaming television sequel to The Karate Kid film series. To be specific, the original three Karate Kid films. Created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, Cobra Kai ran for a total of six seasons, with two being produced for YouTube Red, and the latter four being produced for Netflix, who acquired the streaming rights when YouTube opted to shut down YouTube Red.  Cobra Kai sports quite a collective of cast members over its six seasons. Included in the cast are the likes of Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Peyton List, Vanessa Rubio, and Martin Kove.          Now, interestingly enough, Cobra Kai was initially planned as a movie ,  but Sony passed on the idea in favor of what would become the 2010 version of The Karate Kid with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. However, with the advent of stream...

My Thoughts on WWE Backlash (2025)

Hey guys, Chuck here, and yeah I know I said that after WrestleMania , I more than likely was taking a break from talking about WWE events until SummerSlam . But, I just had to talk about today's special live event from WWE: WWE Backlash , which was held in St. Louis.           So, the lineup of matches were pretty fun, and were as follows: John Cena faced Randy Orton for the Undisputed WWE Championship, Lyra Valkyria faced Becky Lynch for the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship, Jacob Fatu faced LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre in a Fatal 4-Way match for the WWE United States Championship, Dominik Mysterio faced Penta for the WWE Intercontinental Championship, and Pat McAfee faced Gunther in a one-on-one match.          On commentary for most of the night were both Michael Cole and Wade Barrett, and they both did a really good job. Although, Wade did have to call a lot of the McAfe...

Review - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Well, today is May 4th, which makes it a perfect day to talk about arguably the greatest Star Wars game ever produced: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic . Originally released on Xbox and PC, the game has since gotten re-released as part of the Star Wars Heritage Pack , which consists of seven beloved Star Wars games which are now part of the Star Wars Legends continuity.            Knights of the Old Republic is set four thousand years before the events of A New Hope , and sees the galaxy in the midst of a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, which is being led by Darth Malak. Malak amassed his fleet after betraying his Master and best friend Revan, seemingly killing the former Sith Lord when a Jedi strike team attempted to capture the two Sith Lords.          As the player, you take on the role of either a Soldier, Scout, or Scoundrel loyal to the R...

Review - Thunderbolts* (2025)

Hey guys, Chuck here. Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts*  has finally arrived in theaters. Directed by Jake Schrier, the movie stars Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, Wyatt Russell, David Harbour, Hannah John-Kamen, Lewis Pullman, Olga Kurylenko, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.          The movie sets up that an Avengers level threat has surfaced, but with one problem: no Avengers. To combat the threat, Valentina Allegra de Fontaine assembles the following antiheroes: Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Ava Starr/Ghost, John Walker/U.S. Agent, Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, and Antonia Dreykov/Taskmaster. Can this group of misfits form a proper team and save the world?           Okay, so this movie does take a little bit to get going. But, once in genuinely gets going, it's a really fun ride to the finish. Now, I do have to admit that there are moments of Marvel humor that do pop in here and there, ...
