Hey guys, Chuck here, and happy New Year. Well, we had quite a number of entertaining movies in 2022, but it's looking like 2023 is going to be a much bigger year for new releases in theaters. So, I'm here to run down my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2023

As always, before we get to the ten movies that I'm the most excited for, here's a few honorable mentions: John Wick Chapter 4 - Keanu Reeves returns for the fourth outing of the John Wick franchise, and it looks to be filled with even more kickass action; Elemental - Disney and Pixar are heading into the world of elements with this star-crossed lovers tale of Ember, a girl made of fire, and Wade, a guy made of water; Creed III - Michael B. Jordan, making his directorial debut, returns to the role of Adonis Creed as he is forced to take on a childhood friend with nothing to lose; Wish - Disney's newest animated feature tells the story of magic wishing stars in a film that looks to celebrate one hundred years of Disney magic; The Super Mario Bros. Movie - Nintendo and Illumination team up for this animated adaptation of the beloved Nintendo franchise filled with a stellar cast that includes Chris Pratt as Mario and Jack Black as Bowser; Wonka - Timothee Chalamet stars as Willy Wonka in this musical tale of how he became the world renowned candy maker; Saw X - the latest chapter of the Saw franchise will see the return of Tobin Bell as John Kramer/Jigsaw in a movie with very few details as of right now.

Okay, so with those out of the way, here are my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2023

           10. Haunted Mansion - the second big screen movie based on the Disney theme park attraction, this movie looks to delve more into being a horror comedy, with iconic elements from the ride like Madame Leota and, of course, the Hatbox Ghost.

             9. The Little Mermaid - this live-action remake of Disney's animated classic will see Halle Bailey take on the role of Ariel in a film that looks pretty incredible.

             8. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves - the latest cinematic attempt to adapt the popular tabletop game to film, Chris Pine and Michelle Rodriguez lead a band of misfits in an epic fantasy adventure.

             7. Fast X - Dom Toretto and the crew are back for their latest adventure, which will pit them against a new for played by Jason Momoa.

             6. Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One - Ethan Hunt and the IMF are back for the first stage of their final mission.

             5. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts - this follow-up to 2018's Bumblebee will see Optimus Prime and the Autobots team up with Optimus Primal and the Maximals to take on Scourge and the Terrorcons, as well as the vicious Predacons.

             4. The Marvel and DC Studios Films - Yep, both Marvel and DC have quite a number of movies hitting theaters in 2023. On the Marvel side, we have Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May, and The Marvels in July. Meanwhile, on the DC side, we have Shazam! Fury of the Gods in March, The Flash in June, Blue Beetle in August, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in December. Definitely looking forward to each of them, especially with Ant-Man and Guardians

             3. Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny - Harrison Ford dons the iconic fedora of Indiana Jones in this fifth adventure, which comes to us from Logan director James Mangold.

             2. The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes - based on the 2020 Suzanne Collins novel, this prequel to the Hunger Games will see an eighteen year old Coriolanus Snow become a mentor to District 12 tribute Lucy Gray Baird in the Tenth Hunger Games, and will chronicle the first steps to Snow's rise to being the tyrannical President of Panem.

             1. Dune: Part Two - Denis Villeneuve returns to the world of Frank Herbert's sci-fi classic with returning favorites like Timothee Chalamet, Josh Brolin, and Zendaya, along with new faces like Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Lea Seydoux, and Christopher Walken. I cannot wait to return to the sands of Arrakis in this continuation of 2021's Dune

And there we go, my Top 10 Most Anticipated Movies of 2023. Now, throughout the month of January, I'll be working on the following three franchise retrospectives: Indiana Jones, John Wick, and Pirates of the Caribbean. In addition to that, I'll be taking a look at the 2007 Square Enix video game The World Ends with You, so keep an eye out for that. And, of course, February will be Disney Renaissance Month, because yes, even Chuck's Movie Breakdown plans to commemorate one hundred years of Disney. In addition to commemorating one hundred years of Disney, we'll also be commemorating sixty years of Doctor Who with a series of reviews and retrospectives of Doctor Who, and those will begin in March. And, of course we have Marvel May in May, HallowScream in October, and 12 Reviews of Christmas in December. So yeah, 2023 is gonna be jam packed with a lot of reviews.

Well, that'll wrap things up for now. This is Chuck signing off, and I'll see you guys next tomorrow for my review of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
